Daniel Curry came to the court of appeal following a six-year stint as a superior court judge, where he handled civil and criminal assignments, including a stint in law and motion. Presiding Judge Robert Parkin described Curry in a letter to the Commission on Judicial Appointments as "very dependable" and willing to take on any assignment. Civil litigator Peter Byrnes, a longtime friend, described Curry as "a strong and able writer."
The State Bar's Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation rated Curry "well-qualified." Curry had only been on the appellate bench for two months at the time of this profile.
