Attorneys, judges, law professors and law students with artistic talents that extend beyond the courtroom are encouraged to submit original pieces for consideration in an upcoming art show.

For the second consecutive year, the New Jersey State Bar Foundation is sponsoring a juried exhibit of original paintings, drawings, sculpture and photographs by members of New Jersey’s legal community. The artwork will be on display at the New Jersey Law Center in September and October.

“The exhibit is a great opportunity for the legal community to showcase their talents in other arenas, as well as to further the good work of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation,” said Steven M. Richman, chair of the foundation’s ad hoc Arts Committee. Given the success of the show last fall, foundation officials are hoping to make the exhibit an annual event. The juror for the show is Wendel White, a distinguished professor of art at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Richman will be a co-judge.

To submit artwork or find out more, contact Cynthia Pellegrino at cpellegrino@njsbf.org or 732-937-7507 for full terms and conditions, specs and entry forms. The deadline to email digital images of submissions is Friday, July 19, at 5 p.m.

A “Meet the Artists” reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, the day the show opens. The artwork will be available for sale.
