Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan has appointed Joshua Farrell, currently a lawyer in the New York attorney general's office, to temporarily fill a seat on the Albany City Court. Farrell is also widely expected to be elected in November for a full judicial term on the same court.

A lawyer in the state Attorney General’s Office who is all but certain to win election to a seat on the Albany City Court has been appointed to fill another opening on the court for at least the rest of this year.
Joshua Farrell was appointed to temporarily replace former judge Thomas Keefe, whose resignation from the court took effect on Sept. 30.
