Ghillaine Reid, a former New York branch chief for the Securities and Exchange Commission, has joined McGuireWoods as a partner in New York and will co-lead the firm’s broker-dealer practice.

Reid, who spent about six years at the SEC, headed the enforcement division of the agency’s New York regional office from 1998 to 1999. She left in 2001 to join Gibbons, where she was a partner from 2005 to 2014. For the past two years, she was a partner at boutique Schoeman Updike & Kaufman.
