A unanimous Appellate Division, First Department, panel on Thursday disbarred attorney Jason Ciccone for failing to cooperate with an investigation into whether he mishandled client funds.

Ciccone, was suspended in October 2008—the same year he was admitted to the bar—after he failed to respond to the departmental disciplinary’s investigation.

The investigation arose from a disciplinary complaint that Ciccone held a client’s money that was deposited in his escrow account pending resolution of a contract dispute.

Ciccone never appeared.

The committee is represented by Kathy Parrino.

Justices Dianne Renwick (See Profile), Leland DeGrasse (See Profile), Helen Freedman (See Profile), Rosalyn Richter (See Profile) and Sallie Manzanet-Daniels (See Profile) sat on the panel.

The decision in Matter of Ciccone, M-1757, appears on page 7 of the print edition.
