• Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler litigation associate Sarah Levin has been awarded the 2014 President’s Pro Bono Service Award by the New York State Bar Association for her work on the State’s Central Register project, which was developed in conjunction with the Pro Bono Committee of the New York County Lawyers’ Association. The project began in May 2012 to assist low-income New Yorkers facing job loss in the event of a report being entered against them in the SCR after the Office of Children & Family Services receives a description of suspected child abuse or neglect.

• Mary Pennisi, a litigation associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, became the deputy chair of the advisory board at GlamourGals Foundation Inc., a nonprofit aiming to provide companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers and manicures to elderly women in senior homes.

• Sutherland Asbill & Brennan partner Cynthia Shoss was presented with the Association of Life Insurance Counsel‘s 2014 Buist M. Anderson Distinguished Service Award at the organization’s annual meeting. The award is given to long-standing ALIC members who have provided outstanding service to the association and to the life insurance bar, the life insurance industry,or colleagues in the life insurance bar.

• The Albany County Bar Association’s Attorney in Public Service’s Committee has awarded its 2014 Trailblazer Award to Clotelle Drakeford, as an assistant public defender in Columbia County, and its Commitment to Excellence Award to William Andrews, assistant county attorney.
