• Labor and employment firm Littler Mendelson has added Denise Backhouse as a shareholder in the firm’s electronic discovery practice. Previously, Backhouse served as of counsel at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Eileen Hayes has joined Greenberg Traurig as of counsel in the firm’s health and FDA business and insurance regulatory and transactions practices in Albany. She was assistant chief of the New York State Department of Financial Services’ Health Bureau.

Winston & Strawn has added Jared Hershberg as a private equity partner in the corporate practice, focusing on private equity investments, private investment funds and mergers and acquisitions. He was a partner at Morrison Cohen.

Crowell & Moring has added to its insurance and reinsurance group David Beke and Stuart Levene as senior counsel. Beke and Levene were partners at Ford Marrin Esposito Witmeyer & Gleser.

D’Agostino, Levine, Landesman & Lederman has added Susan Scharbach as special counsel. She was deputy bureau chief of the Real Estate Finance Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office.

Jill Faber was named attorney-in-charge of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley’s Poughkeepsie and Kingston offices. She previously served as senior staff attorney in the organization’s Lanza Children’s Law Center.

Burt Fealing has been elected to the board of directors of Pro Bono Partnership, which provides pro bono business legal services to nonprofits. Fealing is senior vice president and general counsel for ITT.

• The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has appointed William Darrow as chief of the office’s Conviction Integrity Program. Darrow joined the office in 1981 and has served as chief of Trial Bureau 70 since 1998.

Alfred Peterson was named chief of Trial Bureau 70. A former officer in the U.S. Marine Corp, Peterson joined the office in 1997. And Bonnie Sard, the inaugural chief of the Conviction Integrity Program was appointed to Administrative Assistant District Attorney and Director of Legal Hiring. She joined the office in 1994 and has served as deputy chief of the trial bureau 60 from 2003 until 2010.
