• Ropes & Gray has added Jonathan Gill and Robb Tretter as partners in the private equity practice, focusing on distressed investing. Both were partners at Bracewell & Giuliani.

• Duane Morris has added Stephen Sussman as a partner in the trial practice, focusing on business litigation with an emphasis on franchise litigation and business transactions. He was with Lebensfeld Borker Sussman & Sharon.

• Mayer Brown has added Michael Martinez as a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution practice and white-collar defense and compliance group. He was the executive assistant U.S. attorney in the District of New Jersey, the office’s third-highest ranking position.

• Greenberg Traurig has added Gabriel Monzon-Cortarelli as a corporate and securities shareholder. He will also head the firm’s Italian desk in New York and collaborate with attorneys from Studio Santa Maria as part of Greenberg’s alliance with that firm. Monzon-Cortarelli was of counsel at Withers Bergman, where he was head of that firm’s Italian desk.

• Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein has promoted to member Michael Antongiovanni, who is in the litigation and dispute resolution practice group in Garden City.

• The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund has appointed Michael Aiello to its board of directors. Aiello is chairman of the corporate department at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and co-head of the New York private equity and mergers and acquisitions department. The fund aids families of New York City police officers, firefighters, Port Authority police and EMS personnel who have been killed in the line of duty.

• Jeffrey Wurst, a shareholder at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek in Uniondale and chair of its financial services banking and bankruptcy group, has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers.
