Retired partners of the bankrupt Coudert Brothers law firm have lost their lawsuit seeking damages for an alleged conspiracy by three law firms to deprive them of their retirement income.

Southern District Judge Colleen McMahon (See Profile) agreed with Bankruptcy Judge Robert Drain and dismissed the case brought by 24 former partners against Baker & McKenzie; Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe; and Dechert, finding the retirees had no standing to pursue their claims of successor liability and tortious interference with contract.
