Brown Rudnick (Boston): Robert Funsten joins the firm as partner and co-chairman of the firm’s global life sciences group in the Irvine, Calif., office. He will focus on licensing and development deals, strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Funsten was a partner at Bingham McCutchen.

Epstein Becker & Green: Bethany Hills joins the firm’s health care and life sciences practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on reimbursement, regulatory and compliance matters. Previously, Hills was a partner at Hodgson Russ.

Pryor Cashman (New York): Daniel Scott joins the trust and estates group as partner in the New York office and will focus on estate and life planning. Previously, Scott was a partner at Chadbourne & Parke.

Rimon (San Francisco): Mark Mirkin joins the firm as partner in the new Jupiter, Fla., office and will focus on early-state financing transactions in the biotechnology, medical technology, information technology and clean technology industries. Previously, Mirkin was a partner at Hicks, Motto & Ehrlich.

Ropes & Gray (Boston): Andrew Thomases joins the firm’s intellectual property ­litigation group as partner in the East Palo Alto, Calif., office and will focus on patent and trade-secrets disputes, particularly in the technology sector. Previously, Thomases was a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Winstead (Dallas): Marcus Brooks joins the firm’s taxation, employee benefits and private-business practice as partner in the Austin office and will focus on tax controversy and litigation matters. Previously, Brooks was a partner at Austin-based Naman Howell Smith & Lee.

Arnold & Porter (Washington): Denise McKenzie joins the intellectual property practice as counsel to the Los Angeles and Palo Alto offices and will focus on intellectual property and patent infringement litigation. Previously, McKenzie was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.

Littler Mendelson (San Francisco): Michael Moffatt rejoins as partner in Indianapolis and will focus on class litigation. Earlier, Moffatt was associate general counsel for CNO Financial Group.
