Shartsis Friese (San Francisco): Nicole Dogwill joins the firm’s litigation group as partner and will focus on complex and class action litigation involving breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, antitrust, unfair competition/business practices and related contract and tort claims. Previously, Dogwill was a partner at Winston & Strawn.
Andrews Kurth (Houston): Thomas L’Helias joins the firm’s corporate practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on representing financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies and private-equity funds in corporate transactions. Previously, L’Helias was a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski.
Flaster/Greenberg (Cherry Hill, N.J.): John Fried and Lee Epstein join the firm’s insurance coverage counseling and litigation for policyholders practice group as partners. Fried will head the white-collar criminal defense practice group in the New York office and will focus on representing policyholders in complex business-related insurance coverage disputes. As a member of the firm’s litigation practice group in the Philadelphia office, Epstein will focus on insurance coverage law. Previously, Fried and Epstein were name partners at Fried & Epstein.
Foley & Mansfield (Minneapolis): David Haron and Melinda Balian join the firm as partners in the Detroit and Grand Rapids, Mich., offices. Haron will lead the firm’s qui tam practice, representing whistleblowers in a variety of fraud cases. Balian will lead the firm’s health care law practice, representing industry clients in contract, employment and regulatory matters. Previously, Haron and Balian were partners at Frank Haron Weiner.
Stites & Harbison: Eric Breithaupt joins the firm’s creditors’ rights and bankruptcy service group as partner in the Atlanta office and will focus on bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Previously, Breithaupt was a partner at Christian & Small.
Vedder Price (Chicago): Richard Thomas joins the firm’s finance and transactions practice as partner in the London office and will focus on corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Previously, Thomas was a partner at Salans.
Winston & Strawn (Chicago): Michael Tomasulo joins the firm’s intellectual property practice as partner in the Los Angeles office and will focus on high-stakes intellectual property litigation and counseling for technology clients. Previously, Tomasulo was a partner at Jones Day.
Crowell & Moring (Washington): Glen McGorty joins the firm’s white-collar and regulatory enforcement group as partner in the New York office. He will focus on white-collar criminal matters including securities fraud, public corruption, wire and mail fraud, money laundering, tax violations, insider trading and accounting fraud matters. Previously, McGorty served as a senior assistant U.S. attorney in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and senior trial counsel in the office’s public corruption unit.
DLA Piper: Courtney Saleski joins the firm’s litigation practice as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on health-care sector white-collar defense and investigations. Previously, Saleski served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia.
Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis (Woodbridge, N.J.): Glenn Berman joins the firm as of counsel to the Woodbridge office and will focus on mediation, arbitration and discovery management of complex family, commercial, estate/probate and general equity matters, as well as law enforcement investigations. Previously, Berman served as a judge on the Superior Court of Middlesex County, New Jersey.
