Mayer Brown (Chicago): David Stew­art joins the firm’s real estate practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on real estate finance matters, with a focus on secured lending and loans in the secondary market. Previously, Stewart was a partner at Latham & Watkins. Additionally, Barbara Goodstein joins the firm’s banking and finance practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on commercial and structured financing as well as restructuring of transactions for a wide range of asset types. Previously, Goodstein was a partner at Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Choate, Hall & Stewart (Boston): William Haulbrook joins the firm’s intellectual property group as partner and will focus on procurement and enforcement of IP rights, with an emphasis on strategic development of U.S. and foreign patent portfolios, patent infringement and validity opinions, and IP due diligence. Previously, Haulbrook was a partner at Goodwin Procter.

Goodwin Procter (Boston): Joe Con­der joins the firm’s real estate capital markets practice as partner in the London office and will focus on commercial real estate transactions. Previously, Conder was a partner at Linklaters.

Littler Mendelson (San Francisco): Michael Lotito joins the firm as partner in the San Francisco office and will focus on traditional labor relations and employment law. Previously, Lotito was a partner at Jackson Lewis.

McGuireWoods: Candace Blydenburgh joins the firm’s toxic tort and environmental litigation practice as partner in the Richmond, Va., office and will focus on defending complex litigation. Previously, Blydenburgh was a partner at Bowman and Brooke.

Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt (Alexandria, Va.): Michael Kiklis joins the firm’s post-grant patent practice team as partner in Alexandria and will focus on software patents. Previously, Kiklis was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.



Kelley Drye & Warren (New York): Bruce Kraus joins the firm’s corporate department as partner in the New York office and will focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital markets, restructurings and securities law. Previously, Kraus was co-chief counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Risk, Strategy and Financial Innovation.

Fenwick & West (Mountain View, Calif.): Effie Toshav joins the firm’s life sciences group as partner in the Seattle office and will focus on advising life sciences companies on business and legal issues, including structuring transactions. Previously, Toshav was senior vice president , general counsel and secretary at AVI BioPharma Inc.

Jackson Lewis: Paul Kelly joins the firm’s collegiate and professional sports practice as partner in the Boston office and will focus on counseling clients on rules and guidelines that govern the sports industry. Previously, Kelly served as executive director of College Hockey Inc.



McDermott Will & Emery: Daniel Alberti, a partner in the firm’s trial practice, has been named partner-in-charge of the firm’s Menlo Park, Calif., office. Alberti will focus on building the firm’s regional client base.

Winstead (Dallas): Cheryl Cain Crabbe, a partner in the firm’s wealth-preservation practice group, has been named managing partner of the firm’s Woodlands, Texas, office. Crabbe focuses her ­practice on tax-sensitive estate planning, trust administration and family wealth-transfer matters for high-net-worth individuals and their families.
