Perhaps nobody collects more data than today’s Silicon Valley giants. Imagine the amount of data a company such as Amazon or Twitter generates on its own, then imagine what it must be like to be in-house e-discovery counsel that has to sort through that data. It’s a monumental task, and one that’s only growing in stature.

That’s why it’s no surprise that when Facebook set out to a hire a new e-discovery expert in the company’s growing legal department, it looked for someone with Silicon Valley experience. Now, noted e-discovery attorney Mira Edelman has come to Facebook as director of e-discovery services after nearly six years with Google, where she was most recently senior counsel and discovery manager.
