Wearable devices may once again create legal controversy now that Connecticut authorities are using Fitbit records to prove that a murder victim was alive at a time that contradicted a statement from her husband. He is facing charges in her death after police analyzed the data from the device.

Recently, The Hartford Courant reported that Connie Dabate’s Fitbit records showed that her last movements inside their Ellington house were nearly an hour after the time Richard Dabate had told detectives that she had been killed by a masked intruder.
