E-discovery is an interesting industry in that its “veterans” aren’t long-tenured in the common sense of the word. The EDRM diagram was launched in 2005. The amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure dealing with e-discovery happened in 2006 and 2015. Many of the industry’s major players have put less than a decade or two into the industry.

Steve Vranas is one of those veterans, having only been in the industry about 15 years. He started with IE Discovery in 2002, then followed that up with Zantaz, a company later purchased by Autonomy. There were stops with Recommind and Logikcull along the way, and now, Vranas has landed with corporate e-discovery company Zapproved as regional vice president.
