The American Bar Association’s (ABA) recently-launched Center for Innovation has announced a pilot project to create a web app to empower and inform victims of hate crimes. The pilot was initially funded by a $25,000 grant from technology company Cisco and is now supported by a host of legal technology designers and educators.
Nicole Bradick, chief strategy officer at legal technology design and development firm CuroLegal, said the desired end product is “a web application that would help somebody identify if they have been a victim of a hate crime, help them understand what their federal and state law says, what protections are offered and help to gather information about the incident and then facilitate the reporting of that incident to the appropriate authorities.”
