Amid news of increased law firm data breaches, some in-house legal departments are encrypting emails with their outside counsel on sensitive matters, including high-stakes litigation and mergers and acquisitions.
While email encryption, or encoding, has helped both law firms and clients, there are no unified best practices, said several in-house professionals. They said complications in technology and installation also are hindering their efforts.
