Analytics is wedging a place in corporations as part of the legal department’s e-discovery options, according to the Coalition of Technology Resources for Lawyers’ (CTRL) annual Advanced Analytics Research survey.

Collecting responses from over 100 IT, analytics and support professionals serving legal departments, the survey found that three times as many respondents than last year will employ analytics for e-discovery this year. Almost all (95 percent) of respondents also expected funding for e-discovery analytics to remain stable or grow in 2017, while the majority of those deploying such analytics for the first time stated they expect to start off with a budget between $50,000 and $100,000 annually.
