Those starting a career in e-discovery may find the best opportunities as an e-discovery project manager in one of the United States’ major cities, according to the Cowen Group’s 2016 Compensation Trends in Legal Technology Report, a survey of 244 e-discovery and legal professionals from multiple U.S. law firms, corporations and service providers.

The report found a strong demand for e-discovery project managers among respondents in 2017, when an estimated 86 positions will open up, the majority of which (51 positions) will be at e-discovery service provider companies, while a significant amount will be at large law firms (14 positions).
