More than 400 attorneys who made lateral moves during 2007 ¿ a boom year for lateral hiring among the largest firms in Texas. Lateral hiring jumped 32.7 percent at 20 reporting firms, from 333 hires in 2006 to 442 during 2007. The reporting firms employed a total of 12,669 attorneys on Jan. 1, 2007. Business contacts were key for Gregg Jones who moved to Andrews Kurth.
