As paper has all but disappeared into electronically stored information, lawyers have been content to leave e-discovery to the geeks. Now we can't imagine a lawyer knowing how to fashion a competent search protocol or query a database. We've set the bar too low for the Bar, and clients and judges are suffering as a consequence, says E-Discovery Special Master Craig Ball.
