A district court has dismissed a suit by a Houston solo who claimed that parts of Texas’ attorney disciplinary system are unconstitutional. But on Aug. 6 she filed an emergency motion for temporary relief with the Texas Supreme Court.

345th District Judge Stephen Yelenosky of Austin on July 29 found that his court didn’t have jurisdiction over Kristin Wilkinson’s claims, and he ordered that her suit be dismissed with prejudice, according to the Order on Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss for Lack of Jurisdiction in Wilkinson v. State Bar of Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline and Nancy Ashcraft in her official capacity.
