William L. Boeing, vice president, general counsel and secretary of Exco Resources Inc., is using lawyers from Latham & Watkins in an approximately $1 billion acquisition. A subsidiary of Dallas-based Exco Resources is acquiring undeveloped oil and gas assets in the Eagle Ford and Haynesville shales from subsidiaries of Chesapeake Energy Corp. of Oklahoma City.
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz is advising Chesapeake’s board of directors on the deal, while Oklahoma-based Chesapeake turned to Commercial Law Group of Oklahoma City.
