The lawmakers working in the 83rd session of the Texas Legislature passed 5,909 of 10,630 bills introduced during the regular session, which began on Jan. 8 and ended on May 27, according to information on the Texas Legislature website. Gov. Rick Perry immediately called a 30-day special session, which is currently in progress. For the 2013 Lobbying Scorecard, Texas Lawyer looked at legislative results for selected clients at some of the busiest lobby shops for the 2013 session. We used our judgment and categorized the legislative results for selected clients as hits (those that make clients happy) and misses (those where clients didn't get what they wanted.) Lawyer lobbyists at Austin firms Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta and Brown McCarroll did not return telephone messages seeking comment.
