Jury sides with company that fired worker post-pregnancy

On March 22, an administrative assistant who claimed she lost her job because she was pregnant lost her case. Lillian McCrory was terminated from her position at the American Productivity & Quality Center in Houston. After McCrory informed her superior of her pregnancy in July 2008, her superior told other employees that her pregnancy was an "inconvenience" and expressed a desire to terminate her, she claimed. Defense counsel argued that she was provided more leave than was required and allowed her to work from home part time for a period beyond that. The defense said she refused to return to work if she wasn’t allowed to continue to work from home at least two days a week.
