Dog owner not liable for attack on cattle rancher’s herd

On Feb. 7 a cattle rancher lost his suit against a man whose dogs allegedly attacked his herd of steer. James See claimed that David Feldmann’s pack of dogs injured his herd. Feldmann contended that only five of the dogs were his and the others were strays that had been left on his property. He questioned which dogs attacked See’s herd. Also, See testified that he shot and killed three dogs and injured two or three others, and Feldmann testified that all his dogs returned from the incident unhurt. The jury found no negligence or statutory violation by Feldmann. The jury also answered "no" as to each of the four strict liability questions.
