In hearings before Senate and House committees, leaders of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct voiced concerns in early April about companion bills that would open the SCJC’s confidential records and meetings for review, in addition to redefining the SCJC.

The SCJC investigates allegations of judicial misconduct and disciplines judges. It underwent a review last year by the Sunset Advisory Commission, which examines each state agency every 12 years and recommends changes.
