Although the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has a reputation as a pro-prosecution court, defendants won several important victories in the 2011-2012 term, which ended Aug. 31. But prosecutors still found reason to cheer. "My impression was it was a very balanced year," says John Stride, senior appellate attorney for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.
