Driver not liable for allegedly backing into woman

On April 4, a jury declined to award damages to a woman who claimed that a trailer backed into her, rupturing her Achilles tendon. In 2009, Joy M. Sutton was at the Golden Grove RV Park when a pickup truck and trailer driven by Dan Foster allegedly struck her. Foster denied hitting Sutton. He said that, though she did sustain an injury around the time of the incident, she may have fallen on her own. If he did hit her, the defense argued, then she was partly at fault, for standing behind the trailer when Foster was backing up.
