Nautilus Insurance isn’t required to pay for the independent counsel hired by an insured company because “the potential conflict in this case does not disqualify the attorney offered by Nautilus,” the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled.
On June 29, a unanimous panel affirmed a ruling by U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary Milloy of the Southern District of Texas that Nautilus did not have to foot the bill for independent counsel for Downhole Navigator LLC.
