If not for the work of Doug D’Arche, Krobar Drilling would be out $175,000 for a mud pump that was never delivered to it and out of legal options for how to collect on that loss.

According to the 1st Court of Appeals’ May 3 opinion in Krobar Drilling v. Fred Ormiston, et al., the background in the case is as follows: Krobar purchased a 1,300-horsepower mud pump from Kenner Manufacturing, which arrived in Texas in April 2007. Krobar agreed to allow Kenner to keep it in Texas for demonstration purposes at the Offshore Trade Conference, instead of sending it to Wyoming.
