Judge Alexandra Smoot-Hogan recently signed a final judgment awarding $315,000 in damages and $467,000 in attorneys’ fees to plaintiff-homebuyers who alleged they bought property with “massive and insidious termite damage.”

Plaintiffs’ lawyer Jeff Hastings, of counsel at Houston’s Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, is pleased with the Nov. 18 judgment, not only because his clients prevailed but because after the verdict several jurors asked him for his business card.
