Jury sides with defendant’s version of events

On Aug. 9, a jury sided with the defendant in a dispute between the parties regarding who had the red light. Aubrey Williams was driving with two minors and two other adults when the left side of their car was struck by Joseph Brown. Williams and her passengers each claimed multiple injuries. They claimed he ran a red light. Brown said it was Williams who had the red and he also didn’t have a drivers’ license. Brown claimed that one of Williams’ passengers negligently entrusted the car to him, knowing he didn’t have a license. Defense counsel noted that Williams had served time for drug possession, which came into evidence. The jury found no negligence by Brown.
