When I thought about writing an article on being a woman in the legal profession, my first thought was: This is not relevant to me, since I rarely confront gender issues now. I turned my back on the so-called pinnacles of the profession long ago and forged my own way. I am much happier, wealthier and more confident than I ever was working at a large firm. The battle of women in the legal profession is an old battle, and I have moved on.

As I thought about the facts, however, I thought more about my experience and that of my generation of female attorneys.
