Porter Hedges partner Randy King of Houston says he worked nearly around the clock for the first three weeks in August while helping Noble Energy Inc. of Houston negotiate a joint venture partnership with CONSOL Energy Inc. for a large Marcellus Shale property.
Negotiations were hectic but not combative, King says, because the two energy companies negotiated an agreement to work together over 20 years. “The parties were very amicable and worked through any issues that arose, and that’s the way you want to keep it when [it's] a joint venture,” King says.
