Thanks to Allison Spruill’s appellate work, her client will get to litigate his whistle-blower suit — a case that contains two issues of first impression — in state court.

In 2008, Clarence Enochs sued Lampasas County in state district court, alleging he was fired from his deputy sheriff job after he reported alleged wrongdoing, according to his state court petition. Enochs alleged violations of 42 U.S.C. §§1983 and 1985, the Texas whistleblower statute, Texas Government Code §614, and common-law defamation.
