Jury sides with defendant in rear-ender

On Feb. 17, a jury declined to award damages to a family who claimed a driver behind them was too close, causing a rear-ender. In 2006, Linda Faabe and her two children were rear-ended by Suzanne Raymond. Faabe claimed soft-tissue injuries, and her children sustained cuts and bruises. Defense counsel noted that the police report stated the plaintiff slowed down abruptly to make a right turn. The jury found Faabe 55 percent liable and Raymond 45 percent liable.
