Since joining Jones Day in January, Scott Cohen has devoted much of his time to working with fellow Dallas mergers-and-acquisitions partner Mark Goglia on Texas Instruments Inc.’s pending $6.5 billion acquisition of National Semiconductor Corp.

Jones Day has handled litigation and intellectual property work for TI for many years, Cohen and Goglia say, but it didn’t represent the Dallas-based company in transactions until Cohen joined the firm. Cohen, formerly a partner in Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Dallas, says he has done transactional work for TI for close to 20 years.
