When Stephen Tatum found out his friend had been sanctioned by a federal judge known for being tough on lawyers, he wanted to help. And Tatum did just that, persuading the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to vacate and remand the sanction order to a different judge.
“He and I had been friends for a long time. This was not a hard decision,” Tatum says of representing Joseph F. Cleveland, a partner in Fort Worth’s Brackett & Ellis.
