To the Editor:

Two years ago the Texas Supreme Court appointed me a public member to the State Bar of Texas board of directors. As an executive and restructuring adviser for over 20 years, I’ve been a client of lawyers from a variety of disciplines, from litigation to corporate to contracts to bankruptcy. I’ve had numerous occasions to understand the sacred public trust that justice will prevail and that the legal profession is sworn to uphold. A good lawyer joke here and there notwithstanding, those who dedicated their time and talent to the work of preserving this sacred trust earn my profound respect and gratitude. It has been and remains a pleasure and honor to serve on the State Bar board.
