Phyllis Butler Royal of Midland, Bar No. 17351720, resigned in lieu of discipline. The Texas Supreme Court order accepting her resignation is dated April 15.
(Texas Supreme Court; No. 10-9052)
Two lawyers — one from Midland and one from Fort Worth — resigned their licenses in lieu of discipline, one was suspended for 12 months, and another received a public reprimand, the State Bar of Texas reported recently. In the case of the suspended lawyer, the judgment in 145th District Court in Nacogdoches County ordered the lawyer to pay $1,500 in attorney's fees and costs to the State Bar. The Bar cited alleged violation of the rule requiring a lawyer to keep a client informed.
