A former investigator for the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office who is a defendant in a federal civil-rights suit is also the target of a U.S. Department of Justice investigation, according to his lawyer.

At an April 15 hearing on pretrial motions in Morrow, et al. v. Washington, et al. , Chad Rook, who represents former investigator Danny Green, told U.S. District Judge T. John Ward of the Eastern District of Texas in Marshall that Green wanted a stay of discovery in the civil-rights suit because “Mr. Green has been served with a target letter from the DOJ.”
