February 22, 2010

The State Bar of Texas recently announced that three lawyers — two from Harris County and one from Travis County — have received public reprimands. In all three cases, the lawyers were cited for violation of Rule 1.01(b)(1) of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, "a lawyer shall not neglect a legal matter entrusted to the lawyer." One of the lawyers was ordered to pay $7,000 in restitution and $951 in fees and expenses.
