A long-simmering feud between the Texas Office of the Attorney General and a private child-support collection business has boiled over, turning into a power struggle between the OAG and 301st District Judge Lynn Cherry.

Cherry and the OAG are battling at the Texas Supreme Court over Cherry’s orders requiring the OAG to send child-support payments to Guardian Ad Litem, a private child-support collection and enforcement company based in McKinney.
