Schulte Roth & Zabel’s Daniel Shapiro enjoys the cut of a finely tailored suit and shirt, but he insists that his fondness for sartorial excellence did not influence his choice of Savile Row as the location for the firm’s London branch.

While most of London’s leading law firms remain loyal to The City and Canary Wharf, a few miles to the east, when Schulte Roth came to London in 2002 it planted itself in opulent Mayfair, on the street where London’s finest tailors churn out premium formal wear. But Shapiro says his choice of location for the firm’s London office was for business reasons alone: In addition to tailors, Mayfair is full of hedge fund managers.
