Singapore's Stamford Law Corp. has hired a new director for its corporate practice.
Lo Kim Seng joins Stamford from Duane Morris & Selvam, the joint law venture between Philadelphia's Duane Morris and Singapore's Selvam, where he was also a director. He focuses on mergers and acquisition and capital markets deals. Last year, he was part of a Duane Morris & Selvam team that advised Heineken N.V. on its $4.6 billion acquisition of Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd., the maker of Singapore's Tiger Beer.
Prior to joining Selvam in 2006, Lo worked as in-house lawyer for three Singapore-based companies.
With Lo on board, Stamford Law has 16 directors and two consultants. The firm declines to state how many associates it has.
In a separate move, Duane Morris & Selvam last month brought aboard Sarbit Singh Chopra as a director and co-head of its litigation practice. Chopra was previously the senior partner at small local firm Lim & Lim, which has now merged into Duane Morris & Selvam.
