Southeast Asian regional law firm DFDL has recruited a partner to lead its three offices in Thailand.

Angus Mitchell is joining from Canadian firm Bennett Jones, where he was a Calgary-based energy partner.

Launched by four expatriate lawyers 19 years ago in Laos, DFDL Partners now has 120 lawyers and offices in countries including Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and Bangladesh. The firm focuses on energy, mining, infrastructure and real estate transactions.

Mitchell is relocating to Bangkok and will also head the firm's offices in Phuket and Samui.

Prior to joining Bennett Jones in 2002, Mitchell was an associate with Linklaters in Singapore for five years.
