An Allegheny County judge ruled Thursday that suspended Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin will be tried at the same time as her sister Janine Orie and that the case is being reassigned to a different judge.

Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey A. Manning issued two separate orders in the case against Orie Melvin and Orie, who are charged with using the judge’s staff to help run election campaigns for the Pennsylvania high court in 2003 and 2009.
