When the chairman of Cozen O’Connor’s securities litigation and SEC enforcement practice left to join the Securities and Exchange Commission in Philadelphia, the firm went shopping for a new chairman and found its answer in New York.

The firm has hired Joseph Dever, who most recently served as assistant regional director of the enforcement division for the SEC in New York, as the new chairman of the practice group. Dever is replacing John V. Donnelly III, who left Cozen O’Connor in the fall to serve in the SEC’s trial and enforcement group in Philadelphia.
