The Commonwealth Court has ruled that a public transportation agency owes no duty to a passenger who suffers an injury while transferring on foot from a bus line to a trolley line.
An en banc panel, on a 6-1 vote in Jones-Molina v. Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, appeared to contradict previous cases where Pennsylvania courts have held state transportation authorities liable for injuries to passengers transferring on foot between public modes of transportation.
